Rui Tan

• Position: Associate Professor

• Bio: Rui Tan (M'08-SM'18) is an Associate Professor at School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Previously, he was a Research Scientist (2012-2015) and a Senior Research Scientist (2015) at Advanced Digital Sciences Center, a Singapore-based research center of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), a Principle Research Affiliate (2012-2015) at Coordinated Science Lab of UIUC, and a postdoctoral Research Associate (2010-2012) at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Michigan State University, East Lansing. He received the Ph.D. (2010) degree in computer science from City University of Hong Kong, the B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2007) degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. His research interests include cyber-physical systems, sensor networks, and ubiquitous computing systems. He received the Best Paper Awards from IPSN'17, CPSR-SG'17, Best Paper Runner-Ups from IEEE PerCom'13 and IPSN'14.

• Bio: Dongfang Guo is a Ph.D student and Research Associate at SCSE, NTU. He received his B.Eng. degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and his M.Sc. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests lie in the field of Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems.

• Bio: I am currently a Ph.D student in school of computer science and engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. My currently research focuses on embedded deep visual sensing in industrial IoT.

• Bio: I am now a Ph.D student and research associate in HP/NTU Lab. I received my Master degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2019. I got my bachelor degree from Southern China University of Technology in 2018.

• Bio: I am currently a PhD Student in school of computer science and engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I obtained my bachelor degree in computing in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2021 and master degree in school of computer science and engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, 2022. My research interest lies in novel applications in sensing systems and utilizing edge AI algorithm in boosting the performance of sensing systems.

• Bio: Zimo Ma is currently a Ph.D. student at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University. He completed the bachelor’s degree in 2020 and subsequently earned the master’s degree in 2023, both from Beihang University. Prior to the current studies, he served as a Research Associate in the Computer Networks and Communication Lab at NTU.

• Bio: Duc Phuc Nguyen is currently a PhD student in the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), Vietnam, in 2023, where he was a Research Assistant in the ML4U Research Team, working on the topics of computer vision and deep learning. His current research interest lies in adversarial machine learning and its applications for constructing more robust sensing systems with guarantee.

• Bio: Yihan XU received M.sc.(2022) in Electrial and Electronic Enginerring from Nanyang Technological University,Singapore, and his B.Eng degree in Communication Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology(Shenzhen). Currently, he works as Research Associate on the SCALE project under Prof. Tan Rui.

• Bio: Yuting Wu received M.Sc. (2020) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and his B.Eng degree in Automation from North-eastern University, China (2019). Previously, he was a Research Associate (2020-2021) at the Centre for System Intelligence and Efficiency, NTU, researching Reinforcement learning applications. Currently, He works as Research Associate on the SCALE project under Prof. Tan Rui.

• Bio: Wenbin Tian is currently a Ph.D. student at the college of control science and engineering, Zhejiang University. She completed the bachelor’s degree in 2019 and subsequently earned the master’s degree in 2022, both from Chongqing University. Now she is a visiting student at NTU under Prof, Tan Rui, and research interest lies in time-sensitive networking.
